This Istrian stone house and its garden were purchased in a state of ruin, requiring a thorough renovation to restore their former beauty and authenticity. The reconstruction process was long and gradual. During the renovation, great emphasis was placed on introducing elements that would harmoniously connect the house volume and exterior surface. Special attention was paid to the restoration of the large oak tree which was part of the traditional Istrian exterior and which had to be revitalized for the exterior to retain its natural charm. At the same time, it was crucial to preserve authentic Istrian construction, using traditional materials and construction techniques. The final goal was to bring the look of the house and garden closer to the original rural environment in which they are located, creating a space that reflects the spirit and history of the Istrian village, while providing contemporary comfort and aesthetic appeal. The result is a renovated home that delights with its beauty and authenticity, serving as a witness to the rich cultural heritage of Istria.
